RESEARCH ANALYST

Ahmed (he/him) is passionate about global finance, progressive politics, and soccer, not necessarily in that order. He is originally from Iraq and brings a background in international economics, banking, and foreign trade to his work on Figure 8’s research team, where he conducts top-down macroeconomic research and ESG-focused equity analysis. An integral part of Figure 8 since 2016, Ahmed helped build Figure 8’s operations from the ground up and now also helps oversee Figure 8’s operations and compliance.

Ahmed holds a PhD in Economics from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, along with a more recent US degree in accounting from Boise State University. He is a FPQP-certified paraplanner. Ahmed enjoys spending his time outside work with his wife and their three children as well as his large extended family. He also finds time to volunteer with Boise’s refugee community.
