Figure 8 Investment Strategies is seeking an entry-level Client Services Trainee to be part of our team delivering exceptional service and an above-and-beyond experience for our impact-focused investment clients across the country. Figure 8 is an independent Registered Investment Advisor dedicated to providing clients with sustainable investment management, personalized financial planning, and innovative strategies that deliver social and environmental impact. This position is based in either our home office in Boise, Idaho, or our satellite office in Portland, Oregon.

This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone eager to start a career in investment management or financial planning and/or to work in a business integrating progressive social change into its mission. As a successful candidate, you are sharp, energetic, and optimistic, have exceptional attention to detail, and are an excellent communicator. Above all, you are committed to delivering a smooth and confidence-inspiring experience for our clients with every interaction. You’re also a quick learner especially when it comes to industry software and systems, and you are passionate about being part of a team working towards environmental sustainability and social justice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Client Service Trainee, you'll regularly communicate with clients and complete back-office work to provide a compelling client experience. You will:

  • Communicate with clients and potential clients about the company’s mission and services; ensure calls and emails answered in a timely, upbeat, and professional manner

  • Onboard new clients; gather and organize client documents and data; serve as guide to completing paperwork and accessing our portals/systems

  • Provide ongoing client service; efficiently handle client requests for cash movements, transfers, and account updates working closely with our selected custodians (primarily Charles Schwab)

  • Capture notes from client calls and meetings; fully leverage and optimize the use of our CRM system (Redtail) and electronic files (Dropbox)

  • Help ensure that office operations (files, phones, email, mailings) are in good working order and have a focus on environmental sustainability

  • Coordinate client meetings and other engagements/events for our advisor team using calendar software (Calendly)

  • Help advance Figure 8’s commitment to social impact and sustainability

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; some financial services or other related professional experience may substitute

  • Tech-savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite; strong ability to learn and apply new software systems quickly

  • Exceptional organizational skills, professional demeanor and a love for checklists!

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • A commitment to excellence; detail-oriented and client-focused

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fun, hardworking, and progressive firm

  • Passion for creating impact around environmental sustainability, social justice, multiculturalism and/or community economic development

THE BENEFITS

We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary plus bonus, 401k with company match, health insurance including dental and vision coverage, paid and volunteer time off, and opportunities for training and career growth. The base salary for this position is $50,000-$60,000.
