Figure 8 Investment Strategies is an independent Registered Investment Advisor dedicated to providing clients with sustainable investment management, personalized financial planning, and innovative strategies that deliver social and environmental impact. Position: Investment Intern (Summer 2026)
Location: Portland, OR or Boise, ID (In-person)

We are seeking an Investment Intern to join our team for an 8-12 week engagement that provides hands-on experience in security analysis, global portfolio management, and impact investing. While this is designed as a full-time summer experience for undergraduate or graduate students, we are willing to consider year-round or part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
THE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
As an Investment Intern, you’ll work alongside our professional team on things that may include:
Assisting with fundamental equity research across multiple sectors using a growth-at-a-reasonable-price (GARP) methodology.
Integrating climate risks and opportunities into company analysis and valuation models.
Drafting investment memos and research reports for the internal team.
Gaining exposure to active equity portfolio management with a focus on global investing strategies.
Supporting the research team with data collection for carbon footprinting and shareholder engagement strategies.
Helping to advance Figure 8’s commitment to social impact and sustainability.
WHAT IT TAKES
Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate (junior or senior) degree program in finance, accounting, or business administration.
Career goals aimed at equity research, portfolio management, or investment advising within an institutional or wealth management setting.
A strong intention to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and accounting principles.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Passion for creating impact around environmental sustainability, social justice, and climate resilience.
An eagerness to learn!
A long-term perspective about the markets combined with an understanding of the urgency around decarbonization, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability

Please submit a 2-3 page investment memo on a public company (preferred) or private company.
Include your investment thesis, valuation analysis, business overview, and a specific section on the sustainability theme or climate impact.
You may include up to 5 exhibits (PowerPoint slides or embedded charts) to support your analysis.
